Where Utah’s Elite Dancers Train

Hello everyone,

I cannot believe that we are already planning and taking students for our upcoming school year. I’m so excited I can’t hardly wait. Thank you for giving me this opportunity to develop mindful dancers. We’ve been working so hard to get everything purchased. Fun props and prizes, new equipment and big news… We are expanding and are currently hoping to be in our new larger space by September. This will allow your dancer to have the best experience throughout the year. Here are some things to keep in mind.

We are a semester based studio. I am a firm believer in family-time and I’m not a believer in overtraining my students to achieve a professional outcome. With that being said, here is an outline of the year. Keep in mind our “Let Them Be Little” curriculum will follow a more traditional school year schedule (having most or all of the summer off). While our Avant-Garde competitive crew will be on a year round schedule.

  • Conception ages 5-7 (2 hours a week) Fall Semester Starts the week of Sept 4th.
  • Emerging Artist Comp Crew (3 hours a week)  1 comp with Arise Dance Competition.
  • Emerging Artist Choreography Camp, August 1st – 11th. Exact times and days will be determined once registration is complete. Fall semester starts the week of Sept 4th.
  • Avant-Garde competes by audition or invitation only.
  • Avant-Garde Summer Semester Starts June 5th – 23rd. Solo Choreography and Technique.
  • Avant-Garde July 10th – August 11th. Technique and Solo Choreography Cleaning.
  • Avant-Garde Fall Semester Starts The week of September 4th. Exact days and time will be sent out when registration is complete.
  • Winter Break is a BIG ONE and WE LOVE IT! Go have a fun Holiday Break with your loved ones. No Dance November 20th – Jan 3 Winter Semester Starts up for everyone beginning January 4th.
  • We will also be taking off for Spring Break. As soon as I know the dates they’ll be announced.
  • Recital May 16th – 17th. As soon as I know the exact date they’ll be announced
  • Please be very mindful of your vacation times during the months of January – May. This is a crucial time to be finessing our routines.

For now my studio is in my home, and there is no viewing space to sit and watch your dancer. We will have Viewing day the end of every month so you can view your dancers progress. This is actually a good thing. In my 28 years of teaching dance, I notice whenever the guardian comes to watch, the dancers attention span is lost and they concentrate more on you than what is being taught.

I do have some forms that I need everyone to sign before attending class. If you are a returning student, you have most likely already signed your forms. Please double check to make sure. All of these forms are available on my website under Contracts & Waivers. Full time students need to sign the Liability Waiver, SOPA Policies & Procedures, and Getting To Know you (This form will appear automatically after signing the SOPA Policies & Procedures).

What does your dancer need to be wearing to class? Proper dance attire is required because I need to see your dancers lines and body posture so I can correct alignment. My mindset is if you look the part, you act the part. We will be doing a large studio order of dance attire at the beginning of Summer and Fall Semesters. Order dates to be announced.

  • Ballet:  Shoes (We will be doing a studio purchase for all shoes). Footless tights or convertible tights and ballet leotards (any color your dancer likes) are required. Also please put your dancers hair in a ballet bun for class.
  • Acrobatics:  Bare feet and form fitting dance wear with hair pulled out of the face.
  • Contemporary:  Bare feet and form fitting dance wear with hair pulled out of the face.
  • Jazz:  Jazz shoes and form fitting dance wear with hair pulled out of the face.
  • Tap:  Tap shoes and form fitting dance wear with hair pulled out of the face.

You can view the outline and due dates for the cost for Pictures, Registration, and Costume fee on my website at https://kelliejerman.com. Simply visit my website and go to the Classes & Tuition page. Go and peruse the About Kellie Jerman page so you can see everything I’ve worked so hard to accomplish in my lifelong love of dance and movement.

Please feel free to contact me with any questions. I’m available Monday through Friday, 9:00am to 5:00pm. If I don’t answer, I’m probably teaching but I’ll return your call as soon as I’m done.
