Hello everyone and welcome to our News page! This is the best way to stay informed because I will be posting here roughly once a month depending on information we need to deliver. Hopefully it will also help to answer any questions or address any issues.
Summer is right around the corner and we have EXCITING NEWS… We are in the process of purchasing a bigger building! Because of this, we have opened up a few more spots in our classes. We would love to fill these spots and are looking for any referrals you might have. In order to keep class sizes intimate and the training more personalized, we only opened 2 slots per class.
Anyone interested in participating in our Solo/Duet program, now is the time to get that set up.
Things to consider:
The music and commitment deadline is May 26th. We can also help you find a song if you need us to.
Sign the Solo/Duet Contract (If you haven’t signed one already) so that both Kellie Jerman School Of Performing Arts and yourself know that you fully understand that this is a time commitment to keep up with regular rehearsal. You can find all of the info in the contract. You do not need to sign it until you’re ready to commit.
The 4 rehearsal hours need to be completed by June 24th. So if any of you are ready to get going now, let’s do it!
The only item that has been adjusted in our Solo/Duet contract from years prior is that we used to offer a complimentary dance reel for dancers that rehearsed an hour every week. Brody typically charges around $1,000.00 for these reels when purchased individually. As we have been growing, we had to accept that it just isn’t feasible to continue this perk. We’re learning rather quickly that business changes and we need to change with it to remain viable in this industry. BUT, if you follow us on Instagram or Facebook, Brody makes a regular appearance in the studio filming and shooting photos of all my talented dancers. You’ll be able to find these photos in our Gallery, and you’re more than welcome to request them so that you can have the option to market your own progress socially if you desire. Brody will be setting up price levels for dance reels on our website if that is something you would like to add to your dance experience.
Avante Garde summer hours start the week of July 10th and run through August 10th. We will more than likely be splitting this into two groups (Unless by some crazy miracle our new studio is renovated by then). You’ll only be coming once a week for 4 hours. We are planning on Tuesdays and Thursdays. If everyone on Avante Garde could please do me a massive favor and text me any complications you have with school teams or commitments so I can place you on a day that would work best for you. I would really appreciate it! Tuesday would be a Morning class, 10:00am-2:00pm. Thursday would be 1:00pm-5:00pm. Remember you’ll only be attending one of these days per week… Not both.
Emerging Artist Jazz Choreography Intensive is Tuesday August 1st from 4:00pm – 6:00pm and August 8th from 4:00pm – 6:00pm. Please let me know right away if any of you have conflicts with these dates and times so we can make the adjustments.
Conception, I’ll see you fall semester. Start date and time is September 4th, 4:10pm – 6:10pm. Please take note of the 10 minute time change. We have a lot of little students traveling from afar and want to make sure everyone arrives safely and on time. Our warmup is so important, so try not to miss out on it and its benefits.
Last but not least, we will be loading costumes to the portal so parents can start making partial payments on them if you so desire. If you were with me last year, you’ll notice the price increase. This was my fault being a newbie. I had no idea what costume pricing was and I under bid this immensely. Leaving me paying out of pocket for them because it mattered more to me that your dancers were beautifully costumed. I just wanted to make you aware of this change.
